FOR OUR PATIENTS

We understand the growing concern surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID 19) across the community we serve.  The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority.  Based on current guidelines from the CDC, Office of the Texas Governor, Texas Medical Board, and our own standards and practices, we remain open and ready to provide exceptional patient care experiences.

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

We are currently offering tele-sessions & in-office sessions.  .  Video sessions will be provided through doxy.me or a similar platform:  you will be sent a link by email to connect to the online waiting room prior to your scheduled appointment.  If you do not have a desktop, tablet, or smartphone to perform video sessions, we will continue with a telephone session.  Please be advised that Blue Cross Blue Shield has extended coverage for telemedicine services through December 31,  and Medicare indefinitely.

PROCEDURES FOR IN OFFICE APPOINTMENTS

Our offices will be cleaned and sanitized daily. Our staff is prescreened for your safety. We ask that if you have any symptoms of COVID-19: fever, fatigue, cough, & shortness of breath to please contact us to reschedule. Please send any required paperwork by email or fax prior to your scheduled visit. You are not required to wear a mask in our office, however please let us know if you prefer that we do so during your sessions.  Our lobby will have socially distant seating arrangements, tissues, & alcohol based hand sanitizer available.  Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have other questions or concerns about our practices to keep you and our staff protected.

INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

As you touch people, surfaces, and objects throughout the day, you accumulate germs on your hands.  You can infect yourself with these germs by touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.  Although there is no vaccine available to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, you can take steps to reduce your risk of infection.  CDC and WHO recommend following the standard precautions for avoiding respiratory viruses:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, and sneezing
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol
  • Always wash your hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty
  • Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, bedding, and other household items if you are sick
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces you often touch. Stay home from work, school, and public areas if you are sick
